INTERSECTIONS: Psalm 23

Good morning!

This week the passages are all about Shepherds & Sheep.  The fourth Sunday of Easter every year is Good Shepherd Sunday.  So we kind of know what the Intersection is going to be already.  But why does Jesus being the Good Shepherd matter to us?  What is the big deal?

In today’s passage we see Jesus laying down his life for us and then calls us to lay our life down for one another.  This is LOVE!  Sacrificial love is the type of love that we are called to love with.  So when we look to our Good Shepherd, we know that He loves us with Sacrificial Love (Agape), not a conditional love that we are used to.

May we receive and share the love of the Good Shepherd today, the love that sacrificial.

1 John 3:16-24: As Jesus laid down his life for us we should lay down our lives for each other. We are called to follow God’s command to love one another – in action, not just in word.

What did the Good Shepherd teach you today?  Share your learnings with someone today.
