Sanctification

John Wesley, founder of the Methodist movement, believed that the goal of Christian discipleship is a transformed life. Wesley called this lifelong process sanctification or going on to perfection.

To live a transformed life, Wesley believed that Christians should do more than meet in church on Sunday. He believed members of the Methodist Church should meet in small groups outside of church as a place for encouragement, accountability and spiritual growth.

Wesley said members of small groups should “watch over one another in love, that they may help each other to work out their salvation.” Small groups help members know Jesus, be in Christ, and live in an active and transformative relationship with God.

Small Groups are the heart of Sandy Hook. We believe that the best way to connect to Christ and grow in your faith is by experiencing life together with other believers. We will help you find the right Small Group based on your unique situation, where you can establish strong bonds through sharing, learning and helping one another through life’s challenges and opportunities.

There are various adult small groups that meet at the church and in homes. These small groups are of various age ranges, study various topics, and meet on various days of the week. If you are interested in joining one of these small groups please contact the church office for details.
