Common Questions

What if I have small children that I need to bring to Sunday morning services?

You are more than welcome to bring them into the service. However, if you are not comfortable with doing so, we provide a staffed nursery in which you may leave your children.

What should I expect?

You should expect to find a friendly and welcoming church who will be glad to see that you have come to worship with us. You will be met by someone at the door to greet you and point you in the right direction. You should then expect to feel welcomed as part of the family during our worship services.

What should I wear?

The dress is varied at Sandy Hook. The Traditional Service ranges from jeans and polos (semi-casual) to dress coat, tie, and dresses (traditional Sunday morning best). While the Celebration Services is much more casual dress, ranging from shorts and tees to khakis and polos.

What type of music do you sing during worship services?

The Traditional Service is just that, a service with many aspects that most would consider traditional, such as the use of hymns, the piano, a choir, and our pipe organ.

The contemporary service is a more upbeat service with both aspects of a traditional and modern worship service.  The music is typical of what you would hear on a contemporary radio station, and the praise band may range from an acoustic guitar and hand drums to a full blown band with electric guitars and complete drum set.

We believe you will find that both services offer the attendees ways to be lead into a time of meaningful worship.

Where do I park?
Parking is easy for our visitors. As you enter the parking lot there is a drive that goes through the lot with a drop off at the front door. You will notice the parking to the side of the church, and the front row has spots marked for visitor parking, please feel free to park in one of those spots.

As a visitor will I be singled out or asked to introduce myself?
As a guest at Sandy Hook you will never be singled out or asked to introduce yourself. All we ask is that you fill out the connection card that is provided in the worship bulletin so we can follow up with you and your family.
